Lucifer season 5: Everything we know so far

Since Netflix picked up the TV-show Lucifer their fan-base has been growing rapidly. Lucifer has been the most binged show on the mobile app tv-time ever since the release of season 4. The show has also been on the most popular series for weeks on Netflix.

When season 4 was released the show overtook Game of Thrones of the most binge-watched show of May. All these stats just show how popular the show really has gotten. Tom Ellis playing as Lucifer recently tweeted: ‘You little bingers you… #Lucifer BINGE REPORT: “Lucifer” Gets Cozy At No. 1.’

The Tv-show was cancelled by fox in May 2018 when the viewer base was to small in the US. But fans started to complain and started the #savelucifer campaign and raising over 300,000 supporters. The show was later picked up by Netflix to produce the next season.

What is going to happened in Season 5

The success of the show lead to Netflix renewing Lucifer for its finale season. On the 7th June the cast posted on their social media accounts asking for ideas for the upcoming season. You can see their reactions here; Lauren German Reaction, Lesley Brandt Reaction. All the cast reaction also included their own thoughts and ideas for their character. Lesly Brandt wanted to see more love between the characters Menziken and Eve. Lauren German said in her reaction video that she wanted to see a “drunk Chloe”. She also mentioned that she would like to see “how Chloe will deal with the heartbreak with Lucifer leaving”. Both of these points would be exciting to see in the next season. During a Q and A on the @Lucifernetflix Instagram account we got two teasers for season five.

The first teaser is that the Chloe will find out about her past and how Amenadiel blessed her parents with getting a child. Ever since season one everyone has been looking forward for the confrontation of Chloe finding about the truth of Lucifer and how he is the devil. But the other confrontation we been looking forward to is when Chloe finds out her real past and her reaction to it. So that might become the highlight of the next season. video

The second teaser is that Lucifer will find a familiar face in Hell. There have been a lot of discussion who it really can be. Might the actor Tom Welling playing as Cain come back to the show? video

There hasn’t been any confirmed release date for Lucifer season five by it will likely to be out in May 2020. Netflix announced: “We’re thrilled that Lucifer fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for”. Lucifer showrunners said Joe Henderson and Idly Modrovich added: “We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms.”

The fan base reaction to Season 5

Most of the fanbase was both happy and sad at the same time when Netflix announced the next season and how its going to be the last. Lauren German later tweeted after the news “And if its only a season 5…I don’t think you won’t be disappointed.” The fan base still has mixed feelings about season five being the last season. But because its going to be the last season the writers of Lucifer say that they can get the best possible ending this way.

Lauren German tweet for the disappointed fans

Who will be in the Lucifer cast in season 5?

Most of the cast will stay the same with Tom Ellis playing the lead role as Lucifer Morningstar along with the co-star Lauren German playing as Chloe decker.

The other actors that will return for the last season will be Kevin Alejandro as Detective Dan Espinoza “Detective douche” and D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel. Lesley-Ann Brandt’s demon character Mazikeen is also likely to return, along with Chloe and Dan’s daughter Trixie, played by Scarlett Estevez. But a lot of fans have been a bit disappointed when Scarlett had huge less scene time during season 4. Her parents always wanted Scarlett to have a “normal life” and that the acting career wouldn’t impact it too much at her young age. She has just finished preschool so there is a big chance that we will be seeing her much more in the upcoming season.
